One of the better things to do post a screwed up exam is to have a fulfilling meal and I did have shrikhand puri and chicken biryani courtesy a very senior colleague. The other is to go and watch a movie…
So I made an impromptu plan to watch this apparently different from the league movie at a never-been-before place.
The film almost begins with the raid and goes on unendingly till the fag end of the movie. There are no ups and downs in the movie whatsoever, and has stereotypical things like an extremely corrupt and arrogant politician, a honest fourtynine-transfers-in-seven-years Income Tax officer fighting him, the politician\’s henchmen trying to fatally attack the officer\’s wife and so on! One neither sees a battle either of swords nor wits, which reflects poorly on the story. You have songs, even as the raid goes on!! The movies goes on and on and on.. The end, I dare not call that climax, is also bland but unexpected. On second thought, I realised that we are so used to the protagonist fighting corruption and the system that we cannot digest the system helping him out to fight corruption!!
My friend accompanying me commented that such tough cop roles suit Ajay Devgn. According to me, it\’s because of lack of any expressions.. Saurabh Shukla gets into the skin as the excessively corrupt politician. Rest of the actors don\’t have much of an exposure.
From people who advertised as \”From the directors of Aamir and No one killed Jessica and from the Producers of Omkara, Drushyam, Airlift and Baby\”, definitely a much better experience was expected! Definitely not (raid) red letter day for me!
