With already a lot of excitement because of the topic, the slew of actors, alongwith the trailer, I had very high hopes pinned on this one!
The movie begins with a very below average scene where Manu aka Manikarnika shoots an anaesthetic arrow to shoot down a tiger and stands in its way as it pounces on her and falls down unconscious a few centimeters away!!
Cut two. Peshwa aka Suresh Oberoi challenges three people to snatch the sword from Manu to win his elephant. Instead, Manu knocks down the sword of one of them and the other two end up helping her climb the elephant!!?? 🤔🤔
By the way, can it be determined whether a girl is pregnant just by looking into her eyes for a couple of seconds??
The film is reaalllyyy slow in the first half with 3 4 songs.. I thought I was watching a historical Hum Aapke Hain Kaun!! It takes a good 70 minutes to built up. The second half is full of energy, war, emotions, action and Kangana!!
The award for \”overacting of the year\” will undoubtedly go to Ankita Lokhande post this movie. The cinematography is pretty convincing during the war and cannon action. The last couple of minutes with SlowMo action sequence are nicely done!
Suresh Oberoi as the Peshwa Bajirao II looks royal to the core. The grand old villain of bollywood Danny seems like made for the role of heralder with his still strong voice. Kangana\’s emotions, action, war sequences, fencing and horse riding are evidence enough of the efforts that she has put into the character.
Har Har Mahadev!!
