After watching the Marathi play \”Welcome Zindagi\” I was longing to go for this movie. Both are based on the Gujarati natak \”102 not out\”. And finally the D Day arrived. As the movie unfolded I realised that I had forgotten the events and it was a blessing in disguise.
The storyline and the sequence of events keep you on your toes. The comedy — dark at times, the fathers\’ unconditional love and concern for their sons amplify the experience. The music is energetic and bubbly! This is one of those rare but engrossing and refreshing movies without a female lead and those stereotypical love stories!!
Big B and Chintuji have reversed the characters of angry young man and the-happy-go-lucky-romantic-at-heart respectively that they famously played in majority of their films of yester years. It is very inspiring to see Amitji play this reel role of an energetic and full of life 102 year old having reached 75 years of age in real life!! The director of Oh my God, Umesh Shukla lives upto his reputation with this venture. However all this wouldn\’t have been possible without the actual writer of the Gujrati play Mr. Saumya Joshi! Now I am tempted to watch the original Gujrati version as well…
